David L. Waggoner
Founding Partner, Attorney
David L. Waggoner, the founding partner of the firm, has been practicing in Crystal Lake, IL since 1976. Originally from Des Moines, IA, David has been proud to call Crystal Lake "home" since beginning his professional career.
David graduated from Iowa State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Industrial Administration. He received his Juris Doctor with honors in 1976 from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. David's areas of practice include organization of business entities and contractual aspects of business entities, including limited liability companies, S corporations, C corporations, limited partnerships, and general partnerships. He also practices estate planning through use of revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney for property and health care powers of attorney. If an estate has not been planned to eliminate the probate process, he can assist the heirs with the formal probate of a testate or intestate estate. David also represents clients in commercial real estate transactions, including 1031 exchanges, and residential real estate transactions. His clients include numerous domestic and foreign corporations.
David served on the Board of Directors for Memorial Hospital for McHenry County for eleven years. He has also served on the Board of Directors and as President of the Crystal Lake Country Club, and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the McHenry County Chapter of the American Red Cross. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the McHenry County Bar Association.
David's wife, Lisa, and brother, Greg, are also partners in the firm. David and Lisa have one son, and all of them are avid golfers.
Gregory L. Waggoner
Principal Partner, Attorney
Gregory L. Waggoner grew up in Des Moines, IA. He attended the University of Iowa, obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1974 with a major in Political Science. Greg received his Juris Doctor from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 1977. He practiced law in Omaha, Nebraska and Council Bluffs, Iowa for seven years before coming to Crystal Lake in 1984. Greg is a principal partner of The Waggoner Law Firm, P.C.
Greg's practice is concentrated in litigation with an emphasis on personal injury, worker’s compensation, contract disputes, domestic relations and other civil and criminal litigation. He is a member of the trial bar of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois, and the McHenry County Bar Association.
Greg has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the McHenry County Defenders, and also served as executive member of the Board of Directors of the American Red Cross, McHenry County Chapter. He is currently the attorney for the McHenry County Housing Authority.
Greg and his wife live in Crystal Lake and have three children. They enjoy outdoor activities including kayaking and hiking.
Lisa M. Waggoner

Lisa M. Waggoner graduated from Roosevelt University with honors and obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Public Administration in 1983. Lisa received her Juris Doctor with high honors in 1986 from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she served as Editor-In-Chief of the Chicago-Kent Law Review in her last year of law school. Lisa is a principal partner of The Waggoner Law Firm, P.C.
Lisa's primary areas of practice are zoning, municipal, real estate, general corporate law including not for profit corporations and homeowners associations, and estate and trust administration. In connection with her zoning practice, Lisa has presented zoning and annexation petitions before many local municipalities, including Crystal Lake, Algonquin, Lakewood, Woodstock, Lakemoor, McHenry, Elgin, Lake Zurich, Cary, McHenry and Kane counties. Lisa served as the attorney for the Village of Lakemoor for eighteen years until 2011. She is currently the village attorney for Oakwood Hills.
Lisa is a former trustee of the Village of Lakewood, Illinois and has served on the Lake Safety and Enforcement Committee in Crystal Lake, Illinois. She has served on the Board of Directors of First Colonial Bank for McHenry County, Crystal Lake, IL, and also on the Board of Directors of Lakeside Legacy Arts Park in Crystal Lake as well as the Sage YMCA. She is currently a member of the Crystal Lake Bank & Trust board of directors and the Civic Center Authority of Crystal Lake, Illinois. Lisa is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the McHenry County Bar Association.
A lifelong resident of McHenry County, Lisa has witnessed the evolution of the county from rural area with scattered small towns to an urban area with several large towns competing for commercial users and fringe areas of farm land and open space. This "local knowledge" is a key component of her zoning and municipal practice and representation of local homeowners associations.
Lisa enjoys being active in the Crystal Lake and Village of Lakewood communities where she and her husband, David, have lived for many years. She also cherishes time spent with her son, Luke and her mother, Joan. Her hobbies include gardening, golf, running and keeping up with friends and family.
Sandra Kerrick
Sandra Kerrick

Sandra Kerrick has been practicing in McHenry County since 1974. She lives in Crystal Lake and was raised in Huntley.
Sandra graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana, in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history. She received her Juris Doctor degree in 1974 from the Ohio State University, Columbus.
Her areas of practice include estate planning, estate, trust, and probate administration, contested trusts and estates; guardian incompetency proceedings; representing businesses; commercial real estate, including zoning, zoning litigation, contract negotiations, and commercial real estate assessments; also
Appeals to the Appellate Court in multiple areas, including contested estates, zoning, including the appeal to convert the Illinois Institute of Technology’s campus in Crystal Lake into a shopping center, real estate assessments, annexation of 690 acres into Algonquin, gravel mineral law for the county’s natural resources, and representing objectors in siting proceedings for a regional sanitary landfill.
Sandra previously served as attorney for McHenry County College and as part of the firm representing the Crystal Lake Park District.
Sandra served on Crystal Lake’s Economic Development Committee, as president of the McHenry County Estate Planning Council, on the Board of Directors for the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce. She presently sits on the Chamber’s Ambassador board, for which she previously served as president, and served on the Chamber’s Economic Development committee when it was first organized.
Sandra served as a Commissioner of the Illinois Supreme Court on the hearing and inquiry boards which discipline attorneys for ethical violations.
Sandra is a member of the American, Illinois, and McHenry County Bar Associations.
Cary Altese

Cary Altese
Cary Altese joined The Waggoner Law Firm, P.C. in 2005 as a Paralegal. She grew up outside of Lowell, IN and has lived in McHenry County since 1997.
Cary received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Purdue University - Calumet in 1995, and her Paralegal Certificate from Elgin Community College in 2005. Before receiving her certificate and joining The Waggoner Law Firm, P.C., Cary worked at a group home for autistic children, and at a social service agency providing services to home-bound seniors.
Kelly Fraulini
Kelly Fraulini came to The Waggoner Law Firm, P.C. as a Paralegal in 2001 specializing in real estate. She obtained her Paralegal Certificate from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI in 1998.
Prior to joining our legal team, Kelly worked for ten years in various real estate offices, including a period of time as a licensed Real Estate Broker with Stanich Realty in Kenosha. This experience gives Kelly a wealth of knowledge on multiple levels of the real estate area of practice.
Kelly grew up in Kenosha, WI and continues to love all things Green Bay Packers.
